Helping children and adolescents of Ukraine with Gestalt play therapy Violet Oaklander. Part 1
The gestalt therapy model of V. Aucklander provides a comprehensive therapeutic process of here-and-now relationships with the help of creative projective techniques (painting, clay work, music, dolls, playing with sand, games and creative theater performances).
More than play and more than art, these media are ways to increase awareness, better contact, enjoy emotional expression, and experience the development of skills necessary to make important changes inside and outside the therapy room.
During this two-part webinar series, participants will:
You will get acquainted with the theory of child development by V. Oaklander about how healthy babies and toddlers can easily deviate from their natural growth and get off track even at normal times.
Considers how therapists and parents can help young people affected by the new trauma and grief of today's war and related crises.
They will begin to prepare for future symptoms of PTSD and long-term therapeutic problems that may arise in Ukrainian youth.
These online webinars will be delivered via Zoom, and will include presentations, demonstrations, and small group work in rooms to facilitate a first-hand creative projective experience with the W. Oaklander model of Gestalt Play Therapy for children and adolescents.
