Who is allowed to intern interns in the Gestalt Therapist Training Program
Trainees can be trained at the I and II stages:
MIGIS lead trainers (supervisors) - without additional conditions.
MIGIS trainers who have been trained in two programs of Stage II - under one of two conditions (2 options):
Option 1. The coach taking an intern chooses a mentor for the whole period of work with the intern (in Stage I and II programs). Number of such internships with a mentor - 1.
Option 2. Before taking on an intern, the trainer conducts at least one more program:
a) independently, or
b) in co-therapy with a sibling, or
c) in co-therapy with his/her Program Supervisor, from whom he/she interned himself/herself - provided that the hierarchical conflict of this coach with the supervisor is resolved and in the opinion of the supervisor it is possible to work and build an equal partnership co-therapeutic relationship.
After one of these two conditions is met, the Trainer, leading the Gestalt Therapist Training Program (Stage I and II), can take a trainee into the Program and train him/her without a supervisor.
A supervisor is a person responsible for the professional development of the trainer, whom he/she supervises, as a teacher, and for the quality training of the trainee by this teacher. Only the lead trainer (supervisor) of MIGIS can be a mentor of a trainer who is training a trainee at Stage II. The program leader informs the MIGIS Central Office, Executive Director about his/her choice of the supervisor and their mutual agreement. The supervisor is not presented at the groups and is not reported to the students of the group, nor is he/she mentioned in the certificates.
A supervisor Tasks:
To respond to the A supervisor's request for assistance:
- in his or her development as a faculty member and in holding that position in the relationship with the intern,
- in building a teacher-student relationship with the trainee.
- To conduct Supervision, counseling, giving a view from the outside, helping the trainee Trainer to move forward.
Payment for the work of the supervisor: 10% of the trainer's fee from each seminar of the I and II stage program.
